GENERAL PURPOSE

To train highly qualified human resources to develop academically and professionally on the basis of new paradigms of development taking into account the interaction of theoretical perspectives of five areas of knowledge of social sciences and to carry out multidisciplinary research in an independent and innovative way to respond to the challenges of globalization and its relationship with local, regional and international phenomena.

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES BY AREA OF KNOWLEDGE

Institutions and Political Processes: 

Provide students with the theoretical-methodological tools to evaluate the role of institutions, systems and political changes in development processes, framing them in the context of globalization.

Global economy

To provide students with the theoretical-methodological tools that allow them to evaluate the role of economic interactions in development processes based on the analysis of global dynamics and the challenges that this implies.

Public Policies for Development

Provide students with the theoretical-methodological tools to understand the relationship between public policies and development processes, as well as to analyze, formulate, implement and / or evaluate public policies in the context of globalization

Globalization and Governance

To provide students with the theoretical – methodological tools that allow them to evaluate the contemporary geopolitical configuration based on globalization processes and their relationship with development.

Social studies

To provide the students with the theoretical – methodological tools that allow them to analyze the socio – cultural challenges that globalization imposes in terms of equity, capacities and identities.
